Frequently Asked Questions

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There are many parking and public transit options available surrounding the lawn at Old Main. Since Emerge is happening on the same day as the Tempe Art Festival, parking may be limited. We recommend using the Valley Metro system–light rail and buses. If you are taking the Valley Metro light rail, you can disembark at the Veterans Way & College Avenue station, a short walk from Old Main. If you are using the bus system, there are several stops within walking distance. More information for public transit, including a route planning application and maps, is available at the Valley Metro website.

If you are driving, we recommend parking at the Fulton Center Parking Garage, which is free for the weekend beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday. A full list of parking options is available at the ASU Parking and Transit website.

What can I bring into the event?

You may bring your own water and snacks. We will have a limited supply of water throughout the day, and light concessions will be available beginning at 5:30 p.m..

What can I expect at Emerge?

There will be hands-on activities, performances, workshops, exhibits, lectures, experiments, and interactive experiences. The festival will be outdoors and many of the activities will take place in large inflatable domes, under tenting, or directly on the lawn.

What can I expect in the workshops/special experiences?

There are a variety of workshops and special experiences to choose from. You may read about each of the workshops/experiences on the Emerge registration site. Please note that due to limited space in each session, registration is limited to two workshops/experiences per guest. After you register, workshop leaders may reach out to you prior to Emerge to share information prior to your session.

Do I have to attend a workshop/special experience?

Not at all! There will be lots to see outside of the workshops and special experiences. You are free to roam about the various activities in the festival grounds. You can check out the full list of limited-capacity workshops/experiences on the Emerge registration site. Please note that some workshops have a minimum age requirement to participate.

Is this event family-friendly?

Yes! We have a wide range of activities that are suitable for the entire family and we encourage you to bring children.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
