Manheim is a Ph.D. Candidate in Sustainability at Arizona State University. Her research investigates how embodied experiences can be mobilized to develop creative approaches and build consensus to solve society’s sustainability challenges. This research lies at the intersection of interaction design, public participation in science and technology, and sustainability transitions management. Marisa has a background in user experience design and spent 8 years prior to her Ph.D. as program director for an urban agriculture nonprofit. She is a recipient of a National Science Foundation Doctoral Dissertation Improvement Grant, a Babbitt Center Dissertation Fellowship and a WateReuse Arizona Scholarship.
