Darlene Cavalier is a professor of practice at the School for the Future of Innovation in Society at Arizona State University and the founder of SciStarter.org, an online hub for citizen science. She is a founding board member of the Citizen Science Association, an advisor and fellow at National Geographic, and a member of the National Advisory Council for Environmental Policy and Technology at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
