EMERGE: The Future of Sport 2040

Emerge: The Future of Sport, a flagship enterprise of Arizona State University, is the smartest and most surprising carnival in America that brings together artists, engineers, dancers, scientists, storytellers, athletes, ethicists and technologists to imagine and build futures in which we can thrive.

Did we mention it is free and open to the public?

Sign up to help us make this event happen! We need volunteers for the following positions (and a few other positions yet to be determined):

Greeters, event ambassadors, ushers

Visitation load in, construction, load out

Visitation managers

Activity table attendants

VIP Room help

Volunteers will need to attend an orientation/rehearsal either on Thursday, April 28th or before 4pm on Friday. Event itself is at Wells Fargo Arena on the 29th, 5-10pm. Volunteers will serve shifts.

Volunteer for Cistern

Volunteer to Referee a Climate Change Game from the Future

Call for talented artists/athletes/performers/doers for project involving sports and climate change, to take place on the ASU campus, Friday, April 29th.

Seeking 5-7 “referees” for Cistern, a future sport arising from the climate migrations of the 2030s. You’d be explaining the game to complete beginners, and refereeing it when they play. If necessary you would step in to fill out teams. Confident and curious, you’ll be helping complete strangers feel comfortable with forming teams and doing weird things.

Experience with theater, international humanitarian work, or student-athletics are a plus. Ability to carry 30+ lbs is a benefit, but not necessary. Women/POC encouraged to apply.

Our project is part of Emerge, ASU’s festival of the future. When you’re off-shift, it’s an excellent chance to go see the rest of the festival.
